[Previously on Roswell.]

[Liz, Maria, and Alex are with fortune teller Madame Vivian.]

Madame Vivian: [laying out Liz's tarot cards.] I've never seen the cards fall like this before. The boy, he's different.]

[Liz's accidentally set her book on fire while she and Max are sitting on the bleachers after school.]

Max: I didn't do that.

Liz: I did.

[Liz uses her powers to throw tell against the wall.]

Liz: [over voice.] You healed me and now I'm different.

[Isabel is sitting on her bed in her parents' house. Her stuff is flying around her like a tornado, the hidden camera catches all of this. Mr. and Mrs. Evans' watches the tape of Isabel.]

[Max, Isabel, and Jesse are sitting in the living room with Mrs. Evans. Mr. Evans sits down beside her.]

Mr. Evans: Can you please just tell us what this means. Who are you?

[Kyle on the pay phone.]

Kyle: Tess is back?

[Tess' in the Evans' kitchen. She's holding Zan. She gives Zan to Max and passes out. Mr. and Mrs. Evans, Jesse, and Isabel walk in.]

[Major Carlson is knocking on the Evans' door. Isabel is trying to convince her dad not to open the door.]

Isabel: Max's baby is an alien. So am I.

Mr. Carlson and the other military men search the Evans' home. One finds the tape of Isabel in the VCR. He puts it in a plastic bag and takes it with them.]

[Tess and Liz in the car.]

Liz: You're not going to let them throw you in the White Room, are you?

Tess: [shakes her head.] No.

[Tess walks out of the car to a chain fence. She uses her powers to make a hole in it, and walks through the hole.]

[Liz is still in the car when the whole base explodes.]

CrashDown Cafe. Outside the Cafe there's a banner that reads, "Good Luck to the Class of 2002." Some customers walk to the door, Liz follows them to the door. She flips the sign on the door to Closed.]

Liz: [voice over.] I'm not religious, but I've been to church. I know right from wrong, and I know it's wrong to benefit in any way from someone else's passing. [she walks over to the table and picks up a newspaper with the headline, "USAF Investigates Devastating Explosion at Rogers Base."] But I won't deny that Tess' death has freed me. Like a dark shadow passed over the sun before the light came flooding back. It's a brand new day [tosses the paper in a waiters trash bin as he walks by.] full of possibilities and hope. I haven't felt like that in a long, long time. [she smiles. she looks over at Max who is sitting at the counter eating.] It's different for Max, he lost more than his son. He lost a sense of direction to his life, a sense of purpose. He puts up a great front, but I know. [she sits beside him.]

Liz: What are you still doing here? Got the hots for some local waitress?

Max: That's the rumor. Have you heard from Northwestern yet?

Liz: Still waiting.

Max: You must be nervous.

Liz: I'm trying to handle the whole college acceptance thing with grace and aplomb.

Max: Aplomb?

Liz: Yeah, it's an SAT word that I just can't get out of my head. It's slowly driving me crazy.

Max: Liz, what if I came with you to Northwestern?

Liz: Max, if that's something that you seriously could or would do then fine, we'll talk about it. Otherwise, please don't put me through the whole emotional roller coaster.

Customer: Excuse me, Miss?

Liz: I'll be right back.

[Liz walks over to the customer and takes her money from her hand. She gets a sudden flash, the lady is begging a man not to hurt her as he takes her purse. He raises a gun to her and shoots her in the chest. The lady walks out. Liz is in shock, she walks slowly back to the counter and sits down.]

Max: Hey, what's wrong?

Liz: That woman that just walked out here.

Max: What about her?

Liz: I think she's going to be murdered.

Max: What are you talking about?

Liz: She was walking down an alley and there's a man with a gun.

Max: Are you telling me that you just say the future?

Liz: I saw something. We have to go after her. [she walks outside. Max follows.] Around here! [They run to an alley beside the Cafe. The see the lady walking.]

Max: Are you sure that--

[The man jumps out of hiding and grabs the lady. She screams and kicks him. He pulls out a gun.]

Liz: Max! [Max uses his powers to make the gun fly out of the man's hand. The alarm of a nearby truck goes off. The man looks around sees Max and Liz and runs away. The lady looks at Max and Liz.] Okay, lets go. Lets go! [she runs away, Max slowly follows.]

Liz: [voice over.] The trouble with making plans for the future, [Rogers Air Force Base, New Mexico. Men in hazardous material suits are searching the burned rubble for clues.] even when you can see the future, is that fate has a way of intervening, and upsetting the best laid plans of mice and men. [One man finds the tape of Isabel, it's partially melted.] -Robert Burns, 1785. That was on the SAT too. [The man puts the tape in a plastic bag.]

[Opening Credits.]

[Jesse is on the phone in his house.]

Jesse: So, this is for real.

[Isabel walks in the house.]

Jesse: Well, I'm gonna have to get back to you on that. Yeah. Bye.

Isabel: [walks up to him.] What?

Jesse: Uh, my friend, Chris Hobson, he just played partner at Langtree, Watkins, and Sullivan, one of the top law firms in Boston.

Isabel: That's nice.

Jesse: They need someone to take over their litigation department.

Isabel: Oh. So Boston, huh? Well, what does it pay?

Jesse: $350 to start.

Isabel: Jesse, get real, we can't live on $350 a week, especially in that city. I mean the cost of living alone would be a week's salary.

Jesse: Hey, $350 a year.

Isabel: So you mean it's...

Jesse: $350,000--

Isabel: A year?

Jesse: [laughs.] A year.

Isabel: Oh my god! [she hugs him.] Honey, that is so great. Oh my god!

Jesse: So does that mean I'm taking it, we're going?

Isabel: Probably. [they hug again.]

[CrashDown Cafe. Liz is poring a drink in a cup behind the counter while Maria is standing beside her.]

Maria: So you're clairvoyant now?

Liz: I am not clairvoyant, it only happened once.

[They walk over to the order counter where Michael is cooking.]

Maria: All right, do you think you can tell me what's going to happen to me and space boy?

Liz: [looks at Michael, who puts 2 plates of food on the counter and walks away.] It's probably beyond my capabilities.

Maria: Yeah, tell me about it. [They each grab their order.] Well, at least we'll always have each other, right?

Liz: Yeah, of course we will.

[Liz walks pat Kyle, who is sitting at the counter.]

Liz: What have you been doing?

Kyle: It's called working for the man.

Liz: In a sewer?

Kyle: Close. I've been flushing septic lines for a 1975 RV. [looks at his menu.]

[Liz sets the plate on a table. The customer smiles at her. As she walks to the back door, her dad, Jeff, walks out and holds up a letter.]

Jeff: From Northwestern University.

Kyle: An acceptance letter?

Liz: Well, either that or a didn't letter.

[The order bell rings.]

Michael: Sorry, the Orbit Rings are ready.

[Liz takes the letter from her dad, as she does, she gets a flash of the content of the letter telling her she's been accepted.]

Liz: [smiles.] I've been accepted!!

Jeff: [smiles.] You haven't even opened it yet.

Liz: [tears open the envelop and reads the letter.] I did! I got in!

[Jeff hugs her. Maria looks disappointed. Kyle claps and smiles.]

Kyle: I gotta do something with my life.

[Valenti's house. Kyle opens two drinks in the living room.]

Kyle: Anyway, thanks for taking this meeting.

[He turns around, we see that his boss is sitting on the couch eating pizza. Kyle sits beside him.]

Boss: Meeting? You just said you were springing for lunch.

Kyle: Right, but I thought we'd talk a little.

Boss: Oh, are you going to complain? Look, trailer sewage is part of the job, buddy.

Kyle: [hands him his drink.] It's not about that. It's just-I-I've been thinking about my future.

Boss: Oh, so it's a money thing. Um, look, all the salaries are frozen. Do you watch tv? I mean, we're in the middle of a recession. You can't be--

Kyle: [paces back and forth.] It's not that, it's not that. Don't worry about that. Um, [sits beside him.] I think I have a lot to offer. [we see Jim spying on them.] Maybe we can expand, open up a new garage. Anyway, I was just-I was wondering if you could consider taking on a partner.

Boss: Partner? Look, I'm sorry, but that's not the way things work. I mean, you're a kid. You're not even my mechanic. You're an assistant.

Kyle: Yeah, you're right, lets just drop it.

Boss: Partner. [laughs.] Sounds a little crazy. [laughs some more. Kyle gets up.]

[Motel room.]

Man: One of my men picked this out of the rubble a few nights ago.

[He puts a tape in the VCR and presses play. We see Isabel sitting on her bed in her room at her parents' house. Her stuff flies around her in a tornado.

General: Is she the thing that destroyed our base?

Man: Possibly.

Man 2: There are several candidates.

General: Can the Special Unit deal with this?

Man 2: The Special Unit no longer exists.

Man: Neither does this meeting.

General: Right.

Man 2: However, the members of the Unit do remain in contact with one another.

General: Then you can take care of this.

Man 2: Well, that's why you contacted us, isn't that right General?

General: We lost a lot of good people at Rogers. I don't want it to happen again.

Man: When this is over, these creatures will never bother anyone ever again.

[Max and Liz are making out in a candle lit room.]

Max: Congratulations.

Liz: You said that already.

Max: Oh.

[They kiss.]

Liz: But I like it when you say it.

Max: Big college girl.

Liz: Hey, we want to be loved for our minds not our bodies. Are you serious? You know, about wanting to come with me.

Max: I've never been more serious. What a great mind you have.

Liz: Oh, I don't think that's my mind, but keep looking. I'm sure you'll find it.

Max: Really?

Liz: Mmm-hmmm. Remember, I can tell the future, and tonight your future looks very, very bright. [They make out some more.]

[As they make out, Liz gets another flash. A gun shot, Max falls to the floor with blood coming out of his mouth, another gun shot, Michael is on the floor dead, another gun shot, Isabel is on the floor dead with Jesse holding her in his arms, another gun shot, Liz falls to the floor dead.]

[Liz jumps off of Max.]

Max: What?

Liz: We're all going to be killed.

[Liz pacing around a table. Maria and Isabel are sitting at the table. Michael, Jim, Max, Jesse, and Kyle are standing beside the table.]

Liz: It was terrible. We were all killed, I saw it.

Maria: All as in everybody?

Liz: Max, Isabel, Michael, and me.

Michael: I dream that we all get whacked every other night. Why the meeting?

Max: Liz started getting premonitions from touching people. Um, she saw a woman about to be killed in an armed robbery, we followed her, and we were able to stop it.

Jesse: You believe it? You think this could really happen?

Max: I think we all should take this seriously.

Michael: Okay, so where do we get popped? When do we get popped? And who pops us?

Liz: I don't know. The flashes were sort of impressionistic.

Jim: We need more information.

Isabel: Where were you? Where were you when you had the flashes?

Max: Here.

Kyle: You said you got these flashes from touching people.

Liz: [embarrassed.] They were. I. . . was touching. . . people.

Maria: How cozy.

Isabel: I think we should just focus on what we should do next.

Max: Right, uh, we should all stand guard. Liz and I will attempt to uhhhh...

Kyle: Achieve another flash?

Max: Seems like the thing to do.

Maria: So I uh, I take it I have no homework, right? [stands up.] Okay, so uh, [turns to Michael.] I have to talk to you Space Boy. You have an appointment tomorrow.

[Madame Vivian's. Michael is getting his tarot read as Maria watches.]

Madame Vivian: So what do you want out of this relationship? I mean, where do each of you see yourselves say 5 years from now?

Michael: The current theory is I'm going to be dust.

Madame Vivian: Dust?

Michael: Dead. Kaput. No offense but can we get to the part where you take out your crystal ball. . . I want to get back in time for WWF.

Maria: I apologize for him. Michael please, I really- I just- I really need to you try and help me figure this out, all right?

Michael: You're the one who broke up with me two seconds after you sucked face with your ex-boyfriend.

Maria: What about that thing with Courtney last year?

Michael: Those were extenuated circumstances, she was a Michael worshiper.

Maria: There are always extenuated circumstances, aren't there. You know what? I am just sick of it. I am sick of it, Michael. [They both look at Madame Vivian.] Um, I apologize. See, we're hopeless.

Madame Vivian: Maria, would you mind if I speak with Michael alone for a few minutes?

Maria: Why? I want to hear everything you say though.

Madame Vivian: This is not about you and Michael. This is much bigger than your relationship.

Maria: Of course it is. Everything always is, isn't it? 'Kay. [she leaves.]

Madame Vivian: Michael, something bad is about to happen. [she turns over the rest of the cards.] Very bad. And there's only one way to keep it from happening. You must believe in the love.

Michael: Believe in the love? I have no idea what that means.

Madame Vivian: I know you don't, but try to. It could save your life and others.

Michael: I think you are a fraud.

Madame Vivian: [hands Michael one of the tarot cards.] So you don't forget.

[Michael takes it. It's The Lover card.]

[Michael walks out of Madame Vivian shop. Maria walks over to him.]

Michael: Come on, she's a flake, lets go.

Maria: I don't believe this. You are not going to tell me what she said. You know, this is so ridiculous.

Michael: [uses his powers to blow up a flower pot.] Shut up!

[Two men in the motel are looking at pictures of Max and Michael and Michael and Maria when Michael blew up that flower pot.]

[Max and Liz are on the bed making out.]

Liz: Touch job.

Max: Yeah, somebody's got to do it.

[Liz laughs.]

Liz: So what's happening to me, Max? I mean, what does this mean? Am I becoming one of you?

Max: I don't know, but whatever is happening, we're good for now.

[Liz gets another flash. A man is giving a speech at the podium. A gun shot, Isabel falls to the ground dead. Another gunshot, Michael falls to the ground dead. Another gun shot, Liz falls to the ground dead, and another gun shot and Max falls to the ground dead.]

[Liz jumps up.]

Max: Did you see something?

Liz: I saw everyone get killed again. Oh, wait a second, there was someone else there. I've seen him before.

Max: Who was it?

Liz: [walks over to her bookshelf.] That face, I know I've seen that face before. Where is that... [she grabs a book and looks at the back. There's a picture of the author.] This is him. He was there the moment we all got killed. He was giving a speech or something.

Max: Bryce McCain. He's gonna be the guest of honor at the UFO Convention. We die June 12th.

Liz: That's less than 2 weeks.

Max: We have 12 days to figure out how to stop it.

[Outside the Pod Camber in the desert. Michael, Max, Liz, Isabel, Jesse, Maria, Jim, and Kyle are sitting down.]

Michael: So who is this Bryce McCain?

Liz: He's a science fiction novelist and he'll be at the UFO Convention.

Max: So we have less than 2 weeks before we are all killed.

Maria: God, how does this happen and why now?

Liz: Well, it probably has something to do with Tess destroying the base.

Michael: Maybe they found your mom's video tape.

Isabel: So now it's my fault?

Michael: I'm just saying they put it together pretty quick.

Jesse: Look, it's not going to help to point fingers, okay?

Jim: He's right. We need to come up with a plan as a team.

Michael: A team? Look at us, it's ridiculous.

Maria: Michael, you're not helping.

Max: She's right.

Michael: Okay, fine then, help. What's the plan?

[Everyone looks at Max.]

Max: I won't make this decision for anyone. I'm giving up the throne. [he stands up.] I'm not a king. You're not my second in command. And you're not a princess. We're just fighting for our lives.

Isabel: Well then we need to start planning on how to fight back.

Michael: I got a better idea. Why don't we get out of dodge before they land on us. We leave.

Kyle: Then where do we go?

Michael: Anywhere but here. I mean, lets face it, they know who we are. It's over. We leave Roswell, we leave fast, and we leave as quietly as we can. We all go separately.

Maria: Separately?

Michael: Right now, we are safer as individuals then we are as a group. I mean, what are we all going to do if we leave together? Get a van? We go quietly into the night. Each of us on our own. If they get some of us, maybe they won't get all of us.

Jim: Wait a minute. We all go?

Michael: Right now the only ones in danger according to the crystal ball [motions to Liz.] here are me, Max, Isabel, and Liz. So the rest of you are safe, you can stay here.

Maria: Oh, so now I'm not invited?

Michael: Maria. . .

Maria: You're just- you're just gonna leave me here? You know this is incred- this is perfect. Just a perfect way to end this entire stupid thing. Forget it. FIne. Goodbye. Good luck. [she leaves.]

Liz: [Michael looks like he's going to run after her.] Hey, let me. [Liz runs after Maria.]

Max: If we're going to go we shouldn't hesitate. We should start leaving right after graduation. One at a time. And we don't look back.

[Liz is still running after Maria.]

Liz: Maria!

Maria: What?!?

Liz: Wait! Wait, what is your problem? What's your problem?

Maria: [turns to Liz.] I have risked my life. I have given up everything. I mean, every other friend I had, I completely blown off. My mother doesn't even know me anymore. And now that it's all over, you're one of them. You're part of it. You're going to go off with them and leave me in Roswell, and I'm going to be stuck here as a waitress for the rest of my life.

Liz: Can you really look at me and say this? I am most likely to get killed in 12 days, and what are you saying> You are saying you're pissed off because you're not getting killed too.

Maria: [starting to cry.] Yes- I don't-I'm falling apart here, Liz, okay? I know I'm ridiculous, I know I sound crazy but--

Liz: It's just that all I have heard for the past 5 months is how you want out of the alien chaos, and now, what you want back in? Maria, Maria, which one is it? Do you want in? Or do you want out?

Maria: I don't know. I don't know. Which one is better for me? You can see the future, Liz, please tell me. Hold my hand, maybe you'll have a flash or something. Tell me which one is better?

Liz: Maria. Maria, listen to me, you've got to stop, okay? Who knows, all right? I can see the future, and I have no idea. Maybe you just need to decide what you want and then go get it. Okay? [she hugs her.]

[Jim and Kyle are walking back to their car.]

Jim: So I guess we stay here, huh?

Kyle: Yeah, this will be fun. We can take bets on when they're going to repossess our house.

Jim: I made a call on your behalf.

Kyle: What are you talking about? [His dad hands him something.] What's this?

Jim: Deputy badge. Sheriff Hanson wants to give you a shot in the sheriff's office.

Kyle: Dad. This is the last thing I want to do with my life. Being a cop like you and Grandpa, that's my worst nightmare.

Jim: Hey, you can do whatever the hell you want, but this badge is an honor, and being a law enforcement officer is not a nightmare it's a dream.

Kyle: It's your dream. And why the hell are you calling in favors to get me a badge anyway? In all this time you haven't lifted a finger to get your own badge back. [he hands him the badge.]

[Jesse and Isabel are beside Jesse's car.]

Jesse: I'll call Boston and tell them to give the job to someone else.

Isabel: No. Take the job, we'll go to Boston. We'll figure out a way. I'm just not going to let this stop us anymore.

Jesse: Isabel, are you sure?

Isabel: Yes. Take the job. [they hug, Isabel walks away, and mumbles to herself:] I can't believe it's all ending this way.

[Michael walks over to Max.]

Michael: Well, I'm not graduating, so I guess I'll be the first to leave.

Max: Michael, look--

Michael: I'm traveling light, so you can have my Metallica cd's.

Max: I know things between us have been a little, uh...

Michael: Hey, Maxwell, don't cuz I can't.

[They hug as everyone watches.]

[There's pictures of the gang on a table. The lady Max and Liz saved is seated in front of them, the men from the motel are talking to her.]

Man: The sooner you help us Mrs. Mills, the sooner you can return home.

Mrs. Mills: They helped me, they saved my life.

Man 2: I'm sure your two children will be happy to see you. It's getting late.

[She looks at both the men. She slowly points to a picture of Liz and then a picture of Max.]

Man: Thank you.

Mrs. Mills: Can I go now? [she stands up.]

Man: You were never here. You never saw us. [she nods.]

[Man 2 escorts her out while the other man puts a picture of Michael, a picture of Max, a picture of Isabel, and a picture of Liz on top of the others.]

Man: These 4. This is everyone. Now we can move.

Man 2: Where?

Man: Some place where they're all together indoors. A facility we can lock down. Some place where they won't expect it to happen.

[Maria walks over to Michael, who is sitting on his motorcycle.]

Maria: I thought you were leaving.

Michael: I am. I just wanted. . .I don't know.

Maria: Say goodbye?

Michael: I wanted to say that this whole thing has been screwed up from the beginning. You and me. Us. Just the whole, long, stupid story.

Maria: Thanks. . .

Michael: But I wouldn't trade it for anything. This has mean so much to me. You know, from day one, from the moment I kidnapped you and stole your car, I knew you were the girl for me. I've never wanted anyone else.

Maria: Michael.

Michael: I still don't. Where ever I go, whatever I'm doing, just know I'll always love you. [he quickly puts on his helmet and drives away.]

Maria: Wait, no, you just can't and then. . .

[Michael speeds away.]

[Max and Liz are on Liz's balcony. Liz is lighting candles.]

Max: Liz, I've been thinking about what happened before. You saved everyone's life.

Liz: I know.

Max: I just- I have this weird feeling about it.

Liz: Oh, what do you mean?

Max: I've just been feeling like I have no path, you know? No where to go. Maybe- Maybe that's why I've been put here. To help people. Maybe that's what I should do with my life after I leave Roswell.

Liz: Like Tom Joad in Grapes of Wrath. Doing good deeds and avoiding the law.

Max: [smiles. Looks at her.] The thing is I can't do that without you.

Liz: I would do anything if it means being with you.

[Max smiles. He opens her grill and takes out a piece of charcoal.]

Max: A trick I learned from Superman. Lets see if it really works. [He squeezes the coal hard in his fist. His fist glows white as he uses his powers. He turns so Liz can't see. He opens his fist and rubs with his shirt whatever is in his hand. He turns to Liz, he slowly walk to her and bends down on one knee. He holds up a diamond he just made.]

Liz: [shocked.] Oh my. . .

Max: Liz, they're taking our home from us. They want to kill us and they might. But when I look into your eyes, I don't feel angry or deprived. I feel like the luckiest half human on the planet. You're pure, you're true, and you're real. And right now that seems like the only thing important. I want to be with you, Liz. Forever.

Liz: [tears in her eyes.] Forever may only be 12 days.

Max: Then we'll take those 12 days [puts the diamond in her hand.] and we'll live 12 lifetimes. Liz Parker, will you marry me?

Liz: [gets down in front of him.] Yes.

[The kiss.]

Max: After graduation.

Liz: Okay.

[They kiss.]

[Graduation Ceremony. Everyone is clapping.]

Principal: Congratulations. Congratulations. And as we continue to honor our seniors in your class, we'd like to give them a few of our own words of wisdom before we send them out into the real world as high school graduates. So now it's my pleasure to introduce to you our special guest for this evening. A 3 time Hugo award winner for excellence in science fiction and an international best selling author, Bryce McCain.

[Everyone claps as Mr. McCain walks on stage. The gang look at each other in disbelief. Jesse looks at Isabel.]

Mr. McCain: [giving a speech at the podium.] Much of my work is about the possibility of alien life and of course that's fiction. [Liz slowly looks behind her. Isabel looks behind her.] But the truth is, [Max looks behind him.] that we are all aliens really in our own way. This is especially nice.

Man: [on a walkie talkie.] This is Base 1. All shooters report in please. [we see sharp shooters hiding in the ventilation ducts.]

Bulldog: [Max in his cross hair.] This is Bulldog, the target is in the clear.

Terrier: [Liz in his cross hair.] This is Terrier. My target is in the clear.

Pointer: [ Isabel is in his cross hair.] This is Pointer. My target is in the clear.

Base 1: This is Base 1. All shooters stand by. Do not shoot until the rest of the Unit has arrived. Repeat. Do not fire until the rest of the Unit has arrived to provide ground control and secure the facility.

[We see men in vans and jeeps speeding to the building.]

[Michael is on his motorcycle. He just saw the Unit drive by. He takes out the tarot card from his pocket. He looks at it and throws it on the ground. He puts his helmet on and drives off.]

Mr. McCain: When I sat down to write this speech, I was struck by the similarities between what I do and the situation that you find yourselves in now. [Max looks back at Liz. Liz half smiles. Max turns back around.] Believe in what could be. About having faith that life and the universe holds more than what we perceive. [Max stands up.] As you contemplate your--

Bulldog: We've got movement. Target is active! Target is active!

Base 1: Bulldog maintain target. Keep the kid in your sights. [we see Bulldog's cross hair. is still on Max as Max walks to the podium.]

Bulldog: What the hell is he doing?

Max: [covers up the microphone with his hand. To McCain:] You need to leave the building right now.

McCain: Wh-What?

Max: It's for your own safety. [Max waves his hand over McCain's typed up speech in front of him. It changes from the speech to "LEAVE NOW FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY."] Just walk away.

[McCain is shocked and confused. He can't believe what he just saw. He slowly walks back from the podium while staring confusingly at Max.]

Max: [begins to speak to the Class of 2002.] Hi, um, I'm Max Evans. [Liz, Maria, Kyle, and Isabel wonder what the heck Max is doing.] I thought I'd take this opportunity to uh, say a few things on behalf of myself [he secretly uses his powers to make the lights go out and a spot light is now on him.] and the graduating class.

Pointer: I've lost target!

Terrier: So have I!

Bulldog: Bulldog still has a lock.

Max: Some of us are here tonight to walk across this stage, [we see Liz and Maria get up and walk out of their aisles.] get our hard earned diplomas and throw our caps in the air, but there's another group here tonight. [Kyle stands and walks out of his aisle.] A group of people who are here for another reason all together. They're here to say goodbye.

Isabel: [to Jesse:] This is it. [she takes his hand and lovingly squeezes it.] Maybe in my next life.

[Mr. and Mrs. Evans are sitting beside Isabel.]

Mr. Evans: What's going on?

Isabel: Max and I have to leave. There is no time to explain, but Jesse will give you the details.

Mrs. Evans: Isabel, no!

Isabel: Mom and Dad, I love you both so much. I'm so grateful that you know the truth.

Mr. Evans: We love you.

[Isabel hugs her mom. She stands up and as she walks past her dad, he stands up and the hug. She walks away.]

Max: You see, this group has been through a lot. And tonight is the night they've decided to call it quits.

[Jesse opens his fist and looks at Isabel's wedding ring. He picks it up, he's very sad and upset.]

Max: It's been a long, hard road for them. They have a lot [Kyle, and Maria walk out of the room.] of... wounds. [Liz follows behind them, but hesitates at the door. She turns around and looks at Max, then walks out.] They've lost people. People that were close to them. [Isabel takes one last look at her mom, dad, and husband then walks out of the room.] They've had each other to cling to, but tonight that's all coming to an end.

[We see the Unit walking fast in the halls of West Roswell High.]

Base 1: What's going on? Do you have them or not?

Pointer: [infrared cross hairs now.] This is Pointer. I don't see her.

Terrier: This is Terrier. I've lost my target too.

Bulldog: Bulldog still has a clean shot. [Max is in his cross hair.] Should I take him?

Base 1: Wait, we're almost in position.

Max: I'm a member of that group of. . . outsiders. I always knew I was different. And for a long, long time all I wanted was to be a face in the crowd. But in the end, it wasn't possible. I guess it never was. So from now on I'll just concentrate on being who I really am. Some of you might not like that. Some of you might even find that frightening. But that's not my problem anymore. I have to be who I really am, and let fate take care of the rest. So thank you Roswell, thank you for letting me live among you. Thank you for giving me a family. Thank you for giving me a home.

[The Unit opens the door. Men and sharp shooters flood the back of the room.]

Base 1: We are in position. Take him.

[As the sharp shooter is about to pull the trigger, there is a blinding white light that fills the room.]

Bulldog: I've lost my target. I've lost my target!

[Michael comes in the room on his motorcycle. He drives through the aisle and up the stairs onto the stage.]

Michael: Lets go!

[Max jumps on the bike, and they drive off through the room and out into the halls.]

[Desert. Max is out of his graduation gown. Michael and Max are walking to Liz, Maria, and Kyle who are also out of their graduation gown. Isabel is there too.]

Michael: My honesty prevents me from taking a bow.

Liz: They probably don't know anything about you, Kyle. You can still go back.

Kyle: Even by some miracle they haven't put me together with the rest of you guys there's still a little problem with my latent alien powers. Some day I'll be buzzing and crackling like tin foil in a microwave, and I'd just as soon be with my own kind when it happens.

Michael: Does he really get to start referring to us as his own kind?

Maria: I'm not going back either.

Liz: No?

Maria: No. My future is here.

Michael: Maria, think about what you're saying.

Maria: I have and this is my choice. This is what I want. I mean [walks up to Michael.] whatever that is in the end, that's what it will be, but we're doing it together.

[Michael and Maria hug.]

Max: So now there is 6.

Michael: Like I said, we're going to need a van.

[An old VW van pulls up. Max, Michael, and Isabel stand between the others and the van ready to use their powers. Jesse jumps out of the van.]

Jesse: Wait-Wait-Don't-Don't shoot or blast or whatever it is that you do, okay? [They lower their hands. Isabel runs up to him and hugs him.] I'm going with you.

Isabel: [tears forming.] Jesse you can't.

Jesse: To hell with Boston and to hell with a career and a normal life. Whatever that is. I love you. That's all that matters to me.

Isabel: The fact that you would come here, and you are willing to do this. It means more to me than you will ever know, but I can't let you do it.

Jesse: Isabel.

Isabel: No. I dragged you into this whole thing without ever telling you the truth and that was wrong. The only way to make it right is to let you go. So go, go to Boston and start all over. Just have the life that you were supposed to have before you met me.

Jesse: I am not going without you.

Isabel: You have to.

Jesse: Will you come back to me?

Isabel: I will keep praying that someday it will be safe enough.

Jesse: Oh, I am willing to count on that.

[He slides her wedding ring back on her ring finger, he kisses her hand. They hug.]

Isabel: I love you.

[She kisses him and walks away.]

[The van drives down a road. Max is driving with Liz in the passenger seat with the rest of the gang in back. A policeman gets out of his car and stands in the middle of the road blocking their path. Max slows to a stop. Kyle gets out and walks to the policeman. We see that it's Jim.]

Jim: I hear I missed quite a Ceremony.

Kyle: [laughs.] I don't think they're going to forget the class of 2002. That's a nice outfit. Deputy.

Jim: Yeah. Yeah, well if you're going to start all over you got to start somewhere, right?

Kyle: Right.

Jim: I, uh, I won't ask you where you're going, so I can honestly say I don't know. [Kyle nods.] But I can tell you there are a lot of people looking for you. [Kyle nods.] Right now they think you are headed south to Mexico.

Kyle: Why would they think that?

Jim: I guess they got an anonymous tip. I can get you to Arizona, but then you're on your own. [Kyle nods.] I mean you're really on your own.

Kyle: Thanks, Dad.

Jim: [trying not to cry.] It's the least I can do.

Kyle: I mean thanks for. . . just thanks.

[Jim takes off his hat and hugs his son.]

Kyle: I love you, Dad.

Jim: I love you too.

[Kyle has tears in his eyes. He walks back to the van. Jim watches his son get into the van and drive off.]

Liz: [voice over.] I can't tell you much more than that. It wouldn't be safe. [we see Mr. Parker reading Liz's journal.] for you or for us. I can tell you that we are far away and that we are all trying to avoid the law and do good in the world. [Wedding Chapel.] Oh, and I guess I should tell you that [Max and Liz run out of the Chapel with Maria, Kyle, Michael, and Isabel behind them.] Max and I did eventually tie the knot. [Max and Liz stop in front of the Chapel and kiss. Maria throws white rose petals at them. They all clap for them. Maria hugs Liz, Michael hugs Max.] Give my love to Mom. [Mr. Parker is crying.] Let her read this journal too. And give it to Maria's mom. And after that take it and burn it out in the desert by the ruins of the pod chamber [Isabel hugs Max.] where my husband was born. So that's the end. Our life in Roswell. [Isabel hugs Liz.] What a long, strange trip it's been. [Max takes Liz's hand and they get into the van.] Will we ever go back? I don't know. Even I can't see everything in the future. [Liz looks out the window.] All I know is that I'm Liz Parker and I am happy.

[As they drive off, we see "Thank you for visiting! ROSWELL." bumper sticker on the van.]
