Prologue
A man about 6' tall with blondish hair stood in
front of the laundry-mat and went inside.
"Hey, we're closed" the owner said.
The blond man took out a gun and shot the owner.
Now, the same man is standing in front of the
Albuquerque Police Department, reporting the horrible
crime.
"I heard a gunshot so I decided to check it out, when
I did, I saw the killer run away and the owner was
dead." he said.
"Do you know what the killer looked like?" the
sheriff asked and the man nodded.
"This is our personal artist, describe the killer to
him and we'll put up wanted posters" the sheriff told
him.
"When you capture the young girl, give her to me, I
work for the FBI and we've been looking for this girl
for a long time" he said.
"We'll need to see your ID" the sheriff said.
The man took out his ID and showed it to him.
The sheriff studied the ID and realized that it was
authentic and he nodded, signaling for the FBI agent
to go to the artist.
"Donald Lydecker" the sheriff read.
At the Crashdown...
"Order up!" Michael said.
Liz went over to Michael and asked where the delivery
was to be made.
6857 Rumberour Blvd.
"You sure you wanna take this order? It's a rough
crowd" Michael warned.
"I can handle it" and Liz took off.
Just then, a Roswell county deputy went into the
diner and put up a wanted poster and everyone went to
look at it...including Max, Michael, Maria, Isabel,
Tess and Alex.
What they say horrified them, the wanted poster
picture was of Liz.
Part 1
Liz was on her bike pedaling to Rumberour Blvd.
She finally got there and knocked on the door. She
gave the order to the man who scurried away from her
as fast as Zack did.
She walked back to her bike when she saw it...the
picture, a wanted poster...of her.
She got on her bike as fast as she could and pedaled
as fast as she could to the abandoned building she had
seen on her way here.
Somewhere in New Mexico...
Zack walked into a gas station to take a pit stop.
On his way out, he saw a wanted poster...of Liz.
He immediately drove to Roswell and looked for her.
At the Crashdown, in the kitchen...
"Come on, you don't think Liz killed that guy, do
you?" Michael asked.
"Well, she has been actin strange and weird ever
since she came back from Florida" Tess said.
"That's bull and you know it! We are talking about
Liz Parker, the girl who kept our secret, jumped off a
bridge for Max and who knows what else?" Michael
defended.
"I'm with Michael, Liz may seem different to us, but
she's no killer" Maria sided.
"Guys...if we saw the poster, that means, everyone in
Roswell have seen it too. What if she's been arrested
or something?" Alex said worried.
Max was shocked, he didn't want to believe it but
now, Liz was so different to the one he had fallen in
love with.
At that moment, Sam walked into the kitchen.
"Where's Liz?" he asked.
"We don't know, why are you looking for her? You
want the reward?" Tess taunted.
Sam gave her the look of death and that made her shut
up.
"I just remembered, she went to deliver an order in
Rumberour Blvd. That's the toughest crowd there is in
Roswell, what if she's in trouble?" Michael shivered
while Sam left the Crashdown and headed for Rumberour.
Maria wasn't feeling so good and she sat down and
held her hand in her hands.
"What's wrong?" Isabel asked concerned.
"I'm not feeling so good" Maria answered and fainted.
Max went and called an ambulance for Maria and they
went to the hospital with her, already forgetting
about Liz's dilemma, everyone except Michael and Max.
Where Liz is...
She went into the building to find it NOT abandoned,
but with gangs there.
When they saw Liz, they recognized her from the
poster and ran after her.
Liz ran and went into Sector 6...which was crowded
with police.
She snuck into a store and hid while the police were
talking about her.
Zack made it to Rumberour Blvd and couldn't find Liz
anywhere, then he remembered that he saw an old
building on his way here and hoped that Liz was there.
He got into a car and drove there. When he got
there, he saw a bunch of gangs and heard them talking
about a girl.
"How could you let her get away? She's worth $3,000
if we catch her!" one guy said.
"She went into Sector 6, the police sector, I
couldn't go in there" another said.
'Sector 6' Zack thought and drove there.
The doctors rushed Maria into the emergency room and
the pod squad and co. waited for anything that could
help Maria.
A doctor came out of the room and had a sad look on
his face.
"What's wrong with her?" Michael asked frantically.
"Are you family?" the doctor asked.
"I'm her boyfriend!" Michael shouted.
'Good enough' the doctor thought.
"Maria has an advanced form of...blood cancer.
There's practically no cure for that, she only has 3
months to live" the doctor told them.
Michael and everyone else just stared at the doctor.
"Is there ANY cure?" Max asked.
"There's only one but it's almost near impossible"
the doctor said remorseless.
"Tell us" Alex said.
"If Maria gets a blood transfusion with someone that
has the same blood type as hers, which is AB-negative.
But the catch is, she would need a lot of the blood
to kill the cancer, that the person who's giving her
the blood...they would die"
"Isn't there any blood donors?" Isabel yelped.
"AB-negative is the most rare type of blood and we're
all out" the doctor then left them.
"I better call her mom" Michael volunteered.
Ms. Deluca and Sheriff Valenti came as quick as they
could and Max told them the bad news and Ms. Deluca
broke out in tears.
Zack finally found Liz who was terrified.
"What am I gonna do Zack?" Liz cried.
"You have to leave Roswell...for good"
"How? The checkout points are crawling with police,
how am I gonna get outta here?"
"We'll get out of Roswell, in the morning when the
police are changing shifts, now, we need a place to
crash" Zack said.
"We can go to the Parkers's cabin, it's only a
10-minute drive from here" and they left.
Part 2
They drove to the cabin and went in.
"We'll crash here and leave at dawn" Zack said.
"I'll get some blankets" Liz went and got the
blankets. When she came back, she found
Zack...drinking a bottle of wine from the Parkers's
stash.
"We might as well take advantage of the cabin" he
reasoned.
"I guess, pour me one will ya?" Liz asked and Zack
obeyed.
"You're doing the right thing Lizzie" Zack whispered.
"Then why doesn't it feel like it?" Liz said
remorsefully.
A lock of hair fell down on Liz's face and Zack
brushed it away, giving them both a touch that they
have longed for.
"When we first broke out of Manticore, I was scared
of everything. The next morning I was walking around
Wyoming. All these people were going to work. But
all I knew was that they were the enemy and I was
completely outnumbered" Zack told her.
"It was like that for me too. But then the Parkers
found me. I almost killed them but somehow, I knew
that they would take care of me" Liz compared her
story to Zack's.
"Then I went to school and met Maria. She was my
best friend and we were just two girls just living out
our life" Liz admired.
"You know, a part of me wants the same things you
do...friends...family...a home...someone to care for"
Zack wishfully said the last part while he looked into
Liz's eyes.
"You were right about something Zack, I don't hang
out with them anymore" Liz whispered regretfully.
"They just can't understand me, how can you be friends
with a person without knowing their true nature...as a
cold-blooded killer?"
"You're not a killer" Zack said.
"Yes I am. Do you know how many men we've killed
Zack? At least over 25 and we were only 5 years old"
Liz said sadly.
"We were only kids, we didn't know" Zack tried to
comfort her.
"But we still killed, we have blood on our hands and
nothing will ever change that" Liz went over to the
window and stared at the forest.
Zack just kept on looking at her, praying that
somehow he could comfort her when he knew that he
couldn't. He just walked over to her and pulled her
in for a long, sweet, warm embrace that she gratefully
returned with full force.
Michael held Maria's hand while she was sleeping.
Suddenly, she woke up.
"Michael?" Maria whispered.
"I'm here"
"Where's Liz?" Maria asked.
"We don't know, she's probably arrested, since she
looks like that killer but she'll be out before you
know it"
"I feel so guilty for the way I've been treating her,
she's my best friend and I betrayed her" Maria started
to cry.
At that moment, Max and the others walked in.
"Hey, you're awake!" Alex cried.
Maria could only smile at his happiness. Then, Maria
felt drowsy and she told them that she was gonna sleep
and they left the room.
"She wants Liz to be here" Michael told them.
"Where is she?" Isabel asked.
"Doesn't she have her cell phone with her? Why don't
we call her?" Alex suggested.
Michael went and found a payphone. He started to
dial in her number.
Ring. Ring.
"Hello?" Liz answered.
"Liz? I have some bad news" Michael started.
"What is it?" Liz asked worried.
"It's Maria, she's in the hospital"
"Why?"
"She has blood cancer, she really wants you to be
here" Michael told her.
"I'll be right there" Liz then hung up and started
for the door when Zack stopped her.
"Where do you think you're going?" Zack shouted.
"To the hospital" Liz answered and opened to door and
started to walk to the car.
"You're not going anywhere Liz!" Zack then pinned her
to the ground but Liz kicked Zack's knee that was
still a little bit injured and he fell down but
quickly got up. They circled around each other and
Zack pulled Liz into a headlock but Liz got out.
"Outta my way or I go through you" Liz yelled.
"You're gonna get caught" Zack reasoned.
"I don't care" Liz answered and walked to the car.
Zack tackled Liz and they both fell down, Zack pulled
her into another headlock, "get your head in the game"
he yelled.
Zack pulled her backwards and Liz flipped him down
and pinned him.
"My head's still in the game." then Liz drove away.
Part 3/Epilogue
Liz rushed in the hospital and quickly found Maria's
room.
"Michael? How is she?" Liz asked.
"She's sleeping right now"
"Can I have a minute alone with her?" Liz asked and
Michael let her in.
Liz walked into Maria's room and saw her with IVs
hooked up to her arm. Liz took a seat and pulled out
the blood transfusion cord and started to transfuse
her blood.
"Michael told me that you needed blood so here it is.
Manticore doctors thought it would smart for X5s to
have any type of blood just in case we needed it" Liz
talked to herself.
Liz could feel her blood going out and into Maria.
She prayed that the transfusion would work.
Liz started to remember all the times she and Maria
had spent together.
Liz started to doze off while the blood transfusion
was still underway.
"She's been in there for 20 mins. already" Max
worried and looked inside the room and saw Liz giving
blood to Maria.
"We gotta get in there" Isabel urged and they started
to knock the door down, causing a doctor to come.
"What's going on in there?" the doctor asked and
looked inside and saw Liz...the face of the killer.
"Security!" the doctor yelled and they came and
busted the door down.
Liz heard a noise and woke up, in time to see that
the blood transfusion had stopped and she was being
dragged outside.
"Did it work?" Liz groggily shouted.
"Let's go!" one cop yelled as Max and the others were
looking at her intensely.
Liz started to fight back and punched one cop down
but she was too weak and staggered and the cops cuffed
her and dragged her out of the building and drove her
to the precinct.
Max just kept on looking at the one he loved being
dragged away.
Zack walked into the Albuquerque precinct and walked
into the sheriff's office.
"She isn't the killer, I am" Zack said.
"We're gonna need more proof" he said.
Zack gave them the supposed 'murder' weapon (how he
got it, I don't know) and the fingerprints matched so
they arrested Zack.
"You're clear to go" the police said to everyone who
was in the cell for looking like Liz.
Liz walked outside, curious of how she was
safe...until she saw Zack being shoved into a car.
Liz looked at Zack so intensely as he did her and
felt her heart breaking.
She mouthed the word 'why?' to Zack and he just
looked at her before going into the car.
"He gave himself up for her?" Lydecker said
unsurprised.
"Yes, it seems like he cares a lot for the girl" the
officer said and left.
"I thought I'd taught him better...oh well, we still
got one of my kids back and that's all that matters"
Lydecker said with a devious smile.
Liz went back to the hospital and saw Michael and the
gang.
Michael quickly got up and ran to her, "are you ok?"
"Depends on your definition of ok" she answered
sadly, and walked towards Maria.
"How's she doing?" Liz looked down at Maria sleeping.
"It's a miracle, the blood cancer is completely gone"
Alex said.
"It is a miracle, I'm surprised you're still alive,
the doctor said that the blood donor would lose so
much blood that they'd die" Tess said.
"Are you ok?" Max asked worried.
"How can I be?" and Liz left the room and headed for
home, if there is such a thing now.
Liz went home after she checked up on Maria. She
turned on the TV. and watched the news for her daily
dose of the world, trying not to cry for Zack.
The strangest accident happened about a half an hour
ago, the car that was carrying a serial killer was
hi-jacked and the killer is nowhere to be found. Our
sources tell us that the car was headed to another
facility for delinquents.
The news anchorwoman said and immediately Liz knew
that she was talking about Zack.
Liz sat on her balcony and wrote in her journal.
It's hard to believe all that's happen to me these
past years. I was shot and was healed by an alien, I
fell in love with him. My brother Zack found me and
left me because I wasn't following orders like a good
little soldier.
Yet again, I was careless and I was in danger and who
comes to help me? Zack. He told me to leave Roswell
and I was about to...until I heard Maria had blood
cancer and the only way to cure her was a blood
transfusion that would kill the blood donor. I was so
worried that I fought Zack and went to the hospital,
gave her a blood transfusion and got arrested.
I thought that I was headed straight for Manticore
until an angel saved me. In other words...Zack. He
gave himself up for me. He threw away his freedom for
me...again. Why Zack, why? I deserve to go back to
that hellhole. I was ready to go back to Manticore and
yet, you saved me, as you have so many times before.
I don't deserve it.
The news says that your car was hi-jacked. I bet
it's Manticore people. I just pray that you got out.
Then, Liz did something that she hasn't done since
she was in Manticore...she prayed to the Blue Lady.
Suddenly, she couldn't take it anymore and she
cried...for all the times she and Zack fought, for
everything she did to upset Zack when he was
protecting her...for causing Zack to give up his
freedom for her.
Zack's POV
After you fought me Lizzie, I went straight to the
precinct, praying that I wasn't late to save you. It
was easy to give myself up, why wouldn't it be? I was
saving YOU in the process and that is what I've always
promised you.
Soldiers aren't supposed to have these moments.
They're supposed to be hard and unfeeling. But I'm
not and I'm glad, it means that I'm human, that we're
human.
Ever since the escape in 2009, I've always been on
the run. Never stopping, whose only purpose was to
protect my family...until I found you again. I knew
that my feelings for you would resurface when I saw
you...you were waitressing at the Crashdown and you
had your hair down. I could still remember the way I
felt. I felt like a human being because I had
emotions.
When you wouldn't leave Roswell, I was crushed
because I knew you were staying because of HIM...Max
Evans. The one you love...the one who stole you from
me. Granted, I never had you in the first place but
we've never fought before, and now we have. I hate
him. I hate him for loving you when I know that his
love for you would NEVER be equal to mine and I hate
him because I know that he can always be there for you
when I have to travel the world to check up on our
siblings. I hate him for making you love him. I hate
him for stealing the one shred of love and humanity
that I had left.
They're shoving me into the car right now and I can
see you...looking at me with guilt. Don't feel that
Lizzie. Please don't. I don't want you to feel
guilty for my decisions. I want you looking at me
with love, not guilt. Never guilt.
I'm in the car right now and suddenly, it stops.
We're being hi-jacked. It's Manticore people and
they're here for me.
I try to fight back but they've got X7s here and I
lose. I'm on my way to Manticore now.
I guess this is the last time I'll have these
moments...my moment of weakness.
