HOLLYWOOD (Zap2it.com) - "Swimfan's" Shiri Appleby revealed that the ending of the film was changed last minute -- and she wasn't happy with the changes.
In the film's original ending, Appleyby was supposed to be attacked in a hospital, but the director changed the setting to a swimming pool last minute, which didn't sit well with the water-phobic actress.
"It was really, really frightening for me, because I'm not a very big water person, I get very scared in the ocean," Appleby tells AP Radio.
In addition to putting her underwater, director John Polson made Appleby helpless, handcuffing her to a chair. In order to make herself comfortable enough underwater to do the scene, Appleby learned how to scuba dive.
The underwater training proved to be quite helpful; during the two days they filmed the scenes, Appleby remained underwater most of the time.
"Actually I'm rather proud of the fact that I did it. It was very scary," she said.
"Swimfan" came in first place at the box office during the weekend, earning $11.3 million in its debut.
