You can't forget his face... while you might have first seen Nick as arrogant jock Kyle in Roswell, this charmingly modest actor's career actually got going more than four years ago with a miniscule role in Danielle Steel's Full Circle. Read on as Nick revs up on everything from what drew him into acting to who inspires him the most.

efg: What was it like moving to Los Angeles to break into acting?
Nick: It wasn't very easy. I feel like it ends up sounding like I'm trying to get sympathy when I tell the story. Its not that bad, I didn't go through what a lot of people went through. I didn't wait for year and years. I guess in a way, part of the reason it was just miserable for me is that everyone I knew and loved was back in Albuquerque and I came out here. You know my family and friends. They all urged me to move out there and they were all there for me. I only knew one person out here and I stayed with him for like 6 months on his floor.

efg: What drew you to acting?
Nick: People ask a lot so I find myself saying this a lot and it's absolutely true. I saw a play in high school and it was like my freshman year and everyone was so terrible in it. Afterwards, they all came out and everyone is applauding them and they were all bowing like "thank you, yes, thank you" and I was just thinking, "YOU SUCK! I can't believe that you have the balls." Like how oblivious they are of their own lack of talent. I just thought to myself I would love to do that so I can prove to you that I am not anyone and I can do better than you. You know I am someone you would least expect to be able to come up from behind you and I don't know I would just....

efg: What do you look for before choosing a project?
Nick: Let's see... I look for them wanting me. I don't know (laughs) if I don't blow in the audition then uh... I don't know..
efg: Anything that comes your way?
Nick: Yeah pretty much. I mean at this point I think that if you were to ask me again later in my career, well lets just say if I happen to have gotten to a point where I can be a little choosier I know how I would do it. You know you can laugh all you want, not that you are going to, I am just saying people can laugh at what I am about to say. Like I love Johnny Depp's career. He is so damn good first off. I know I am not that good but I would love to get better and work it like making different decisions like that. He is always doing something that is totally different from the last thing he did.

efg: Some say actors become actors because they aren't happy being themselves, and need to escape. What is your take on this?
Nick: BULL! I don't think that is true. I mean it might be to other people but I don't buy that as the entire reason. Its not like I was going through something so terrible or anything happened to me that was really screwed up. You know it was just nothing screwed me up so badly when I was younger that I wanted to act. You found out why I wanted to act and that was it. I just got tired of seeing all these people, and you have to understand people till, I mean I still get that feeling um that one of the things that drives me. I shouldn't have to explain myself to anyone but I know if someone ever hears this they will pick it to pieces. It just frustrates me. Its like you don't even know me. Who are you to pick it to pieces. Anyway, I just think even now I think, especially now, people are reaching much higher levels of fame then they could in any high school theatre and on little or no talent. They are getting applauded for it and they are taking bows for it and making me sick and that just keeps me going. I mean that's not the only thing I actually really like doing it. Its like one of the only things that gets me really excited. I really need to wise up and go to college or something. I should have something to fall back on but I don't want too. Not only do I hate schoolwork; I just don't know what the hell else I would like to do. We are all gonna get a little too old for the show eventually or something. Lets be realistic its not gonna be going for ever and who knows if I would have a career after this. I like doing this but the reason I got involved is still something that I find a huge problem with. The same with anything actually, anytime anybody you know gets applauded for doing something that just was not that great frustrates me.

efg: How does that make you feel to be recognized on the street?
Nick: I dunno I mean first of all it doesn't happen that often to me. I appreciate it but I don't need for it to happen. See that's another thing. I think a lot of people here in this business are like they love it, they eat it up because it feeds their ego. It doesn't matter to me. I'm not ungrateful for it. Sometimes that's just hard for me to hear. This may sound like I'm fishing for a compliment but I'm not. It's just hard for me to except, I'm not saying other people can't mean what they're telling me. I mean I have no right to not believe them but I can't really take it seriously until I like my own performance. I know I can do so much better.

efg: When you have time off, what do you like to do?
Nick: Masturbate
efg: Don't we all? (laughing)
Nick: But not all of us do it to my picture. (laughing)
efg: Oh I see.. (still laughing)
Nick: I don't know, I just watch movies and stuff and hang out with my friends. That's pretty much all I like to do. Where are you from?
efg: Florida
Nick: OK, out here we have this newspaper called "the Weekly." It's a free newspaper with like reviews, upcoming events, and ads for whatever. I look for concerts that are coming up, musicians that I like. That's one of my favorite things to do is go to concerts, and because this is such a hot bed for that stuff I get to go often. A lot of my friends living Albuquerque are like kind of frustrated that man you know "I don't get to see any of this stuff." I found a lot of really special musicians out here. I almost always get to see the bands I want to see. I like their CD but they are just so much better live I'm really excited that I went. That's the kind of stuff that I like to do.

efg: Any hidden talents?
Nick: Uhm no... I'm terrible at all of it. (laughing) Besides masturbating (laughing)... honestly I'm not good at anything. If anything else I love playing volleyball and I used to be in wrestling. I love those things but I haven't done either of them in so long that I might have lost some of my ability. My favorite thing to do, and this may sound ridiculous and obvious and it may even sound egotistical, I hope it doesn't, but its to make people laugh its the only thing I know I can make people do. Its not exactly a hidden talent, I mean everyone is capable of making people laugh.
efg: No, it's definitely a talent.

efg: Any guilty pleasures?
Nick: There's the obvious (big grin)... Porno

efg: What are your top three passions?
Nick: My friends and family, music, not because I'm a musician but because I just love music and acting.

efg: Favorite junk food?
Nick: Ice Cream, I think.

efg: Favorite Movie?
Nick: I've got a few. Princess Bride I guess is my most often watched.

efg: Favorite T.V. Show?
Nick: X-files has always been my favorite and it still is I guess easily, but and I know it got cancelled and I'm fucking pissed about it, Freaks and Geeks. It was damn good.

efg: Favorite Book?
Nick: I don't even read so... the dictionary

efg: Favorite Music?
Nick: I don't know about a genre, I like all kinds of different things.

efg: Favorite Band or Singer?
Nick: Jude, Mike Patton and Ani Difranco

efg: Person who inspires you the most?
Nick: Holli Gritsko
